About Me

Chantelle Cookey-Gam

From Tech Reviews to Building the Web

My passion for tech started with YouTube. Watching creators like Marques Brownlee and Linus Tech Tips hooked me on the world of technology. When I first started coding at university, it wasn’t instant love (especially with Java!), but it taught me a vital lesson: development isn't about knowing everything. It’s about staying curious, solving puzzles, and improving step by step. Today, I have a massive passion for front-end design, UX, and building practical full-stack solutions.

The Storyteller's Edge

Outside of the IDE, I have a strong background in video editing and digital design. Pushing the limits of editing software taught me a lot about pacing, storytelling, and visual flow—skills that translate directly into how I approach front-end user experiences.

Whether I am debugging an API or cutting a video, the core skills are exactly the same: patience, problem-solving, and turning small ideas into engaging user experiences.

Beyond the Screen

Athletic Strategy

Whether it’s post-up moves in basketball or focus drills in boxing, I thrive on high-pressure environments. These experiences have taught me the value of defensive awareness, strategic screening, and the resilience needed to push through complex, multi-day projects.

Collaborative Communication

I specialize in translating technical complexity into clear, actionable insights. In my team-based work, I act as the bridge between technical architecture and user experience, ensuring everyone stays aligned on the goal.

Relentless Learner

I have a passion for deconstructing how systems work—from blockchain security to AI integration. I don't just build; I learn the "why" so I can teach it to others and build more effectively the next time.
